The Second Month

About You:

You may be experiencing a variety of symptoms associated with your pregnancy, which could include:

• tiredness and sleepiness
• need to urinate frequently
• nausea with or without vomiting which may last only a brief time each day, or may last throughout the day; increased salivation
• heartburn, indigestion, flatulence, bloating
• intolerance to some foods; cravings for some foods
• changes in your breasts - they may become heavier, tender, fuller, darkening of the areola
• occasional headaches
• occasional faintness or dizziness
• some tightening of clothing around waist and bust
• irritability, mood swings, weepiness

About Baby:

Your baby is growing every day and now has the following characteristics:

• is approximately 1 1/4 inches long (one third of which is the head)
• weighs about 1/3 ounce
• the heart is beating and fingers and toes are beginning to grow
• bone starts to replace cartilage
